I agree with you that many of the features in the middle level should have been in the basic (at least back when I was using it. For anyone serious about working in the animation industry and learning rigs, the dive into toon boom is the way to go. If handrawn animation is your thing, clip studio is wonderful, and adobe animate is a very similar program to toon boom, but more affordable. My relationship with their customer service has been wonderful, and I consider it part of the package of owning toon boom. They're currently making the software free for many who work from home now due to the corona virus, and they just helped me and my department today get us and running when we were having technical issues. Unlike adobe, they're a small company with a niche market, so they cant rely on huge amounts of people to be constantly using it. I dont see it as evil, or mean-spirited in any way. The most up-front real response I've gotten is "We're a company, and we need to keep the lights on". I have complained to a few representatives in person. I love toon boom very much, and would love to recommend it to more people, but I know its very expensive software for many. I should press shift and move my curser around to get strokes then let go get it now its shift click then drag then click.Īny advice with this stuff I will be eternally grateful *pray hands :)
Anyone know a way to bring in texture brushes or something?Īlso I dont know if this is connected since it updated but It changed the way my shift works. Like I said I love tb and I don't want to change. Really is disappointing toonboom is my favorite and I know it well but it is so steep its hard to justify using it when there are free software that can do even more things like the new Blender 2d animation. Feel like that base price should have some of that stuff. Like why get ride of the pencil tip cut offs like from circle to square. I was surprised what a was there and what was not. So I dropped down for the middle one to the basic one to see the differences.
